Wells Stringham is always looking to the future. As the Head of Experience at Vancouver’s Apply Digital, he’s constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible when innovating UX to create more exciting digital products. As an Industry Mentor for students at Vancouver Film School, Wells shares this passion with up-and-coming UX designers as they grow their own skills and find their feet.
“I’m a big believer in the idea that the rising tide raises all boats. The more that we can make Vancouver a centre of excellence for evolving the practice of UX, the better the work produced by our UX community will be,” Wells says.
Wells brings this passion for growth to everything he does. At Apply Digital, Wells joins a world-class team of specialists that conceptualize, build and manage digital products for clients including Evo, Nike, AGI, Freedom Mobile, and Disney. Wells has been with this Product Studio since Day 1, where he is known for pushing at the potential of projects while transforming client needs into specific product and service opportunity solutions. Formed in 2016, Apply Digital focuses solely on creating smart digital products that perform. In addition to UX specialists, this tight-knit team includes researchers, designers, strategists, developers, product managers, and data scientists.
Wells joins Anthony Hempell and Sarah Butterworth as part of the organizing committee of the 2019 Vancouver UX Awards. We asked him what he was looking forward to the most.
“I’m pretty excited because this year, we’ve moved to the Vancouver Playhouse, a much larger venue compared to previous years. We’ve sold out in the past, so it’s great that more people can attend this year,” he replies. “It’s a good feeling to get even more people involved, and I’m very much looking forward to what happens with a wider audience.”
