For the past six years, the UX Awards have been a time to connect and celebrate as a professional community. We are as dedicated as ever to this goal, yet the realities and logistics of planning a live event right now are prohibitive.
Securing venue space and knowing what protocols might be in place for in-person gatherings (if they are even allowed) are huge unknowns right now, which brings operational and financial risk. Being a non-profit society run on the generosity of our sponsors and volunteers, we aren’t able to shoulder much risk at the moment.
However, we think it’s more important than ever that we do something to bring us together, to celebrate our accomplishments, and to keep the flag flying for another year.
To that end, we are planning to do a virtual/online version of the UX Awards this year. It may be scaled down in terms of categories, and we are still investigating and deciding on what kind of format/platform we will use. We are planning to continue the tradition with hosting the celebration in late November.
Please keep an eye out for announcements re: judging, submissions and categories later this month.
